Greater flexibility for complex geometries

Bevels play an important role in many manufacturing processes. They increase the contact surface between parts, improve weld durability, and allow more precise finishes directly from the cutting machine.

One of the new functions in Lantek Expert V45 allows users to work with both standard bevels and 3D bevels on the same part from the drawing module.

Until now, users had to choose between constant or variable bevels separately. In some cases, this limitation required simpler geometries or separate programming processes.

With the new function, both bevel types can now be combined within the same component. This makes it easier to design parts with more complex edges and expands machining options without changing the usual workflow.

The update is particularly useful for parts that require different edge configurations within the same geometry.

Shared cutting for Y bevels

The second addition in Lantek Expert V45 focuses on reducing machining time and material consumption during bevel cutting.

The software now includes a shared cutting function for parts with Y bevels. When a part with this type of geometry is placed next to another already positioned part, the system checks automatically whether both can be machined at the same time.

If the operation is possible, the software adjusts the spacing between parts automatically so both beveled edges can be cut in a single pass.

This process reduces material consumption, lowers scrap, and shortens machining times, particularly in jobs where sheet utilization has a direct impact on production costs.

The new function also extends the shared cutting capability for parts with V joints introduced in previous versions, specifically in cases where one part is mirrored against the other. (The Spanish source refers to mirrored positioning between parts. This wording was retained for technical clarity.)

Prepared for more advanced machining strategies

The new capabilities in Lantek Expert V45 reflect current developments in sheet metal manufacturing, where processes continue moving toward more flexible and dependable automatic nesting systems, along with increasingly advanced multi-angle machining strategies.

With these additions, Lantek Expert continues expanding its CAD/CAM capabilities for CNC programming and complex cutting operations in sheet metal fabrication.
