Hydracorte was already using Lantek solutions across several areas of its business, including CAD/CAM and nesting with Lantek Expert, 3D part design and bending with Lantek Flex3d, production planning control with Lantek Manager, and business management with Lantek Integra.

The objective was to control and coordinate information automatically and in real time, giving the company continuous visibility into the status of every job throughout the production cycle.

Improving processes and eliminating duplicate work

To complete the integration of its information systems and improve financial planning, with accurate control over treasury and accounting operations, Hydracorte implemented additional Lantek Integra modules.

This allowed the company to move away from traditional Excel spreadsheets and expand the Lantek ERP environment it was already using for invoicing, purchasing, sales and subcontracting.

With this solution, Hydracorte has gained greater operational flexibility and clearer visibility into its actual cash position. It can manage cash-flow forecasts, bank remittances and balances while continuing to provide its parent company with accurate and timely information for consolidated financial operations.

At the same time, Lantek’s accounting functionality has enabled Hydracorte to benefit from having all Lantek Integra modules working together within a coordinated environment. This reduces duplicated processes and provides a complete view of both operational and financial activity.

During the initial phase of the project, Lantek focused on improving shop-floor data collection at Hydracorte. The aim was to make data entry easier for operators while giving office teams greater visibility into what was happening on the shop floor, helping ensure that the entire production process remained fully coordinated.

To achieve this, Lantek implemented a barcode-based shop-floor data collection system. The solution makes it possible to accurately track the actual time required for each operation, allow several employees to work on the same process either simultaneously or at different times, record work stoppages and identify both accepted and rejected parts.

Easy and quick to deploy and use, the system gives Hydracorte complete visibility into the manufacturing status of every part from anywhere within the system, without interfering with or slowing down employees’ daily work.

The company can also accurately track the work carried out by each operator, the time spent on each task and the associated actual cost.

This information makes it possible to reorganize tasks internally and improve productivity and profitability, while reducing the risk of cost or planning deviations and avoiding excessive workloads.
